Who these terms are with

Velin is made and run by Fossa, a business in the United States ("we", "us"). These terms are between you and Fossa. Velin is independent software, not affiliated with or endorsed by Roblox Corporation. Roblox is a trademark of Roblox Corporation.

The beta

Velin is free while it is in beta, and it is unfinished: features can change, break or go away. Builds are not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn before Velin opens. Compare each download with its published SHA-256 checksum before you run it.

Open source

Velin's code, the desktop app and the Velin service, is free software under the GNU General Public License, version 3 (GPL-3.0). The source code will be published when Velin launches.

The GPL, not these terms, says what you may do with the code: run it, study it, change it and share it, under the GPL's conditions. Nothing in these terms limits those rights. Parts made by others keep their own licenses, listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md with every download. These terms cover your use of the copies we publish, the Velin service we run and this website.

Your Velin account

• You need a Velin account only for Velin friends, your Velin profile and Velin Pro. You make one by signing in with Roblox, and you must be 13 or older, as Roblox also requires.
• Your Velin account belongs to your Roblox account. Keep your PC and your Roblox account secure: you are responsible for what is done with your Velin session.
• You can sign out, or delete your account and its data, at any time in Velin.

Acceptable use

Do not use Velin, or the Velin service, to:

• break Roblox's Terms of Use or the rules of an experience;
• harass, spam or impersonate anyone, for example with friend requests;
• get at another person's data, or around their privacy settings or a block;
• overload, attack or probe the Velin service, get around its limits, or scrape it;
• upload a profile picture or banner that is unlawful, hateful or sexual, or that infringes someone else's rights, such as their copyright, trademark or likeness;
• do anything illegal.

We may remove data that breaks these rules, including a profile picture or banner, at any time and without notice.

What you add

Guides, checklists, notes, packs, your own thumbnails and private server links you add stay yours, and stay on your PC. A profile picture or banner you upload with Velin Pro also stays yours: it goes to the Velin service, and you let us keep a copy there and show it to the people your privacy settings allow, until it is removed. Add only what you have the right to use, such as a pack's pictures, sounds and fonts, or a picture you upload.

Roblox

Velin works alongside Roblox and does not replace it. You must follow the Roblox Terms of Use and Roblox's community rules, which apply to everything you do in Roblox, including when you start it from Velin.

Velin can install its own copy of Roblox Player from Roblox's servers, checking that Roblox Corporation signed it. Velin changes Roblox's settings files when it applies a graphics profile, which it does at each launch unless you turn that off, and it changes Roblox's cursor, death sound, font and sky only if you choose. Roblox does not officially support these file changes, and Roblox can change its software at any time, which can stop any part of Velin from working. Velin never reads Roblox's memory and never injects code into it. The small Velin mark over a corner of Roblox's window is a separate window of Velin's own, which changes nothing in Roblox; you can turn it off in Settings.

AFK mode, profiles and FastFlags

These are tools you choose to use, at your own risk:

• AFK mode sends input to Roblox for you, which nothing else in Velin does. Once you switch it on, every 5, 10 or 15 minutes, as you choose, and only after nobody has touched the keyboard or mouse for a minute, it brings Roblox to the front for a moment, taps the Left and Right arrow keys and puts your window back. It is off until you switch it on, for the Roblox window that is open or, with its setting in Velin (off at first), whenever Roblox opens, and it turns itself off when Roblox closes. Some experiences do not allow AFK: use it only where it is allowed.
• Graphics profiles write Roblox's own settings files, and some write FastFlags, Roblox's local engine settings, from the short list Roblox still accepts. Roblox can ignore, change or stop accepting them. Velin backs up each file before it changes it, and you can restore it.
• Velin does not guarantee higher FPS or any other result. We are not responsible for what Roblox or an experience decides about how you play, such as a warning, a kick or a ban.

Paid plans

Velin is free to use. Velin Pro supports Velin's development, at $7.99 a month or $49.99 for lifetime use, and adds a few features: a Pro badge your friends can see, switching between Roblox accounts, your own thumbnails for launch profiles and games, a custom profile picture and banner with your choice of favorite games and their playtime, supporter packs, scenes and skies, and early access to new features. Everything else stays free for everyone. Pro is sold only under the terms of sale, and nothing is charged before you agree to them.

Sponsors and other services

Velin shows a labeled sponsor card on Home. Sponsors are other businesses: their links go to their own sites, where their own terms apply, and we do not endorse what they offer. Velin also works with Roblox, Discord, Trello and Microsoft software, whose own terms apply when you use them.

No warranty

Velin is provided as is and as available, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, merchantability and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. We do not promise that Velin will work with every version of Roblox, be free of bugs, or always be available. Sections 15 and 16 of the GPL say the same for the code.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Fossa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost progress in a game, or anything Roblox or an experience does to your account, arising from Velin. Our total liability for any claim about Velin is limited to the greater of what you paid us for Velin in the 12 months before the claim and 50 US dollars. Some places do not allow these limits, so some of them may not apply to you.

Termination

You can stop using Velin at any time and delete your Velin account in the app. We may suspend or close a Velin account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other people at risk, and we may change or stop the Velin service, telling you in Velin or on this site when we can. Ending these terms does not end your rights under the GPL to the copies of the code you have. The sections on open source, no warranty, limitation of liability and governing law keep applying.

Changes to these terms

We may change these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and say so in Velin before a change that matters takes effect. If you keep using Velin after that, the new terms apply. If you do not agree, stop using Velin and delete your account.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and the federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law rules. Where you live may give you rights that these terms cannot take away, and those rights still apply.
